Well... The summer harvest is complete.  We signed up for the extended season which we should start to get soon but the farmers are taking a small break.  I can't wait to see what we get and I'll post pictures as soon as they begin delivering again!  It'll only be for a few weeks though... before the season is over and winter sets in.

Well for weeks 15 and 16 taking pictures completely slipped my mind so here is a pic of week 17.  This watermelon is DELICIOUS!!!  I could not stop eating it!! Did you know that watermelon is high in antioxidants, Vitamin A and Vitamin C?  Who knew something so delicious could be so healthy!  We also received cucumber, squash, sweet and hot peppers, and here's an interesting one... Red Noodle Beans!  They are chinese and can replace string beans in any recipe!

For week 13 and 14 we got some delicious corn, tomatoes, Anaheim peppers, bell peppers and I don't have a picture yet but a beautiful delicious watermelon as well!!!

We've extended our CSA share to continue on into the fall so we still have lots more delicious farm fresh veggies to come!!!

Heirloom Tomatoes, Potatoes, Onions, Garlic, and Eggplant!!! Isn't the Eggplant BEAUTIFUL!  I have to remember the exact name of it but I can't wait to use it!!

Last week my life was hectic with my husband gone and I was so disappointed because I cooked all my veggies up before taking a picture!! But last week we received carrots (which were so cute!!), potatoes, and onions :)

We are more than halfway through our CSA!!  But guess what?  We signed up for their fall crop!  I'm SO excited!!  It's four extra weeks after our current season ends!  This week we received Kale, Garlic (which I harvested!!), Zucchini and some Fingerling potatoes!  The zucchini we'll use in a Mexican dish we call Calabasitas, where we chop it up and toss it with stewed tomatoes, tons of cheese and some spicy goodness... MMmmmm!  My FAVORITE!

They didn't deliver to us on Monday because we had some pretty heavy rainfall and they didn't want to harvest any of the veggies on Monday morning because they said they wouldn't be at their best quality.  So I was able to bring my veggies home from the farm today!  In our share we received corn, green onions, beets, and new potatoes!

I love beets and can't wait to do some yummy stuff with those and of course the corn as you know from my main post is DELICIOUS!!  I'm tempted to go grab one right now even though it's 11pm!

This week we received yummy cabbage, new potatoes, sweet candy onions (which were to die for), some more turnips and some more kohlrabi.

I was thinking of using the cabbage in some stew but it's just too warm in my opinion... so I think I'll shred it and top my tostadas with it this weekend...YUM!!

This week we received some more Broccoli and Kohlrabi... Some delicious looking Napa Cabbage and Kale... our herb transplant is a beautiful smelling Sage plant!  I can't wait to try some yummy veggie cabbage rolls with my Napa Cabbage... I'm thinking rice combined with onions and stewed tomatoes and tons of yummy spices!  I'll let ya know how they turn out!

Okay!  So yesterday we got Turnips, Spring Onions, Broccoli and see those green strings towards the bottom... well those are Garlic Scapes!  They are used a lot in restaurants and basically you use them just as you would use regular garlic... They smell wonderful and I can't wait to use mine! As you can see we also got some BEAUTIFUL Purple Leaf Basil... we can't wait to add this to our garden!

Oh and by the way the leafy greens from last week was Tatsoi!  Very similar to Bok Choy and absolutely delicious!
